Welcome to the 21st and ¼ century

Common wisdom holds that one shouldn’t say happy new year after January, or even after the third or fourth.

Regardless, happy new year! Technically speaking, DS13 is now in its third year of operation IRL (though we’ve been going strong for about 20 consecutive months to be precise!)

The first quarter of the 21st century is over. As we move into the second quarter, I for one hope to live in less interesting times. DS13 as an oasis in the centre of our collective imaginations is something that continues to give me great joy, and I thank you all for being a part of it.

I hope everyone’s new year period has been restful, and I’m looking forward to getting into our encounters with the bugs below Dreizhen III, and the Borg on the IKS plraqSIS’pach. Tags to flow freely shortly.

Over the last few months, we’ve hit a few milestones that I want to acknowledge. The awards system through the site is confusing and tricky, so I’m just going to put it all here:

18 months – the following players have been here for a year and a half! Your support and participation has been the core of the DS13 experience since the beginning, and I’m sincerely grateful to all of you for everything so far.

12 months – Those of you who have been aboard for a year have been part of this game for an appreciable period of your lives, and you have my heartfelt thanks for your contributions.

6 Months – Though Nessa has been a part of several of our sims previously over multiple years, I’m still delighted to have Yy, Three and all her other contributions as part of the DS13 story, and very thankful for her being a part of this game these last six months.
